Peyronie’s Disease Q & A

What is Peyronie’s disease?

Peyronie’s disease is an inflammatory condition defined by a buildup of scar tissue that results your penis to curve or bend. This curvature makes it much too painful to sustain an erection during sexual activity.

It is common for men to have some penile curvature, but Peyronie’s causes your penis to drastically bend in one direction. In some cases, Peyronie’s deforms your penis so much that sexual intercourse is not possible.

How can you treat Peyronie’s disease?

The practitioners at Apex Health Center are exclusive providers of our Acoustic Wave Therapy Protocol. The originators of the innovative protocol personally trained the entire team at Apex Health Center.

Acoustic wave therapies, like our AWT Protocol, are noninvasive, pain-free, proven methods for breaking down penile scar tissue. Without the scar tissue, your penis resumes normal erectile function.

Stop suffering from the pain and deformation of Peyronie’s disease and turn to the expert team at Apex Health Center. Call for a consultation or book your appointment online today.

What causes Peyronie’s disease?

The exact cause of Peyronie’s isn’t know. Researchers believe that it is a result of a recurring injury to your penis. The injury provokes your penis to generate scar tissue which builds up causing this disease.

During a normal erection, the elastic tissues in your penis expand and blood fills your vessels. With Peyronie’s disease, the portion of your penis that has scar tissue is unable to stretch properly and your penis curves or bends drastically.

A few Peyronie’s disease sufferers did not suffer from an injury and but instead there is evidence of high cholesterol, diabetes, or another underlying condition that contributes to artery obstruction.

What are the symptoms of Peyronie’s disease?

Peyronie’s disease is a result of irregularities, bending, and curvatures of the penis. Other hallmarks of the condition are decreased erections, shortening of the penis, and total loss of an erection during intercourse. Due to these frustrating symptoms, Peyronie’s disease often leads to anxiety and stress.
